Where Inclusion Meets Fall Traditions
There is something about September that feels like a fresh start.
While many people think of January as the beginning of a new year, September has always felt that way to us. The season begins to change, routines shift, and we find ourselves thinking about what comes next. It is a time of new ideas, new opportunities, and new possibilities.
That is why our September theme is Fall Into Possibility.
Possibility begins when we make room for growth, remain open to change, and create spaces where everyone feels welcome. Those ideas became the inspiration behind our newest celebration drop, and we are excited to officially introduce our Fall Drop.
At the heart of this drop, there are two messages that celebrate both the beauty of fall and the importance of inclusion.
The first message, Fall For All, features three cozy autumn drinks decorated with symbols representing disability and accessibility, including a wheelchair, headphones, and a walking cane. While the image embraces everything we love about fall, it also carries a message that extends far beyond the season. Fall gatherings, community events, workplaces, schools, and celebrations should be for everyone. Inclusion is not about simply inviting people into a space; it is about ensuring they can fully participate and feel that they belong.
The second message, Carving Spaces For Everyone, draws inspiration from one of fall's most famous traditions. The image features pumpkins carved with symbols representing accessibility and disability, reminding us that creating inclusive spaces requires intention. Just as carving a pumpkin takes thought and effort, so does building communities where everyone feels welcomed, valued, and seen.
For the dog lovers in our community, we also created alternate versions of both designs featuring our four-legged friends. At The Ability Company, our dogs are part of the family, so it felt only right to include them in this collection. Our "Fall for All" message is paired with an adorable pup cup illustration, while "Creating Spaces for Everyone" features a dog carving a paw print into a pumpkin. To make the design even more inclusive for families, the paw print pumpkin artwork is also available as a kids' t-shirt. These playful designs celebrate belonging, accessibility, and the special connection many of us share with our pets.
We also introduced two new products to this collection: door mats and mouse pads. Both hold special meaning because they represent inclusion in the spaces where we live, work, and connect. For many people with physical disabilities, computers play an essential role in daily life, supporting communication, employment, education, advocacy, and social connection. A mouse pad is more than a desk accessory; it is part of a workspace that helps people stay engaged with their communities and the world around them. Door mats are equally meaningful, offering a welcoming message at the entrance to a home and helping set the tone for a space where everyone feels valued, respected, and included from the moment they arrive. Together, these products help bring the message of accessibility and belonging into everyday life.
These messages reflect something we believe deeply: belonging matters.
For many people with disabilities, accessibility is often considered only after barriers have been identified. We believe inclusion works best when accessibility is part of the conversation from the beginning. When we intentionally create space for different experiences, abilities, and perspectives, everyone benefits.
This drop is our way of celebrating that message while embracing the warmth and beauty of the fall season.
Whether you are someone with a disability, a caregiver, an advocate, a dog lover, or simply someone who believes in creating a more inclusive world, we hope these designs spark conversations and encourage others to think differently about what belonging can look like.
As the leaves begin to change and a new season unfolds, we invite you to join us in embracing possibility, celebrating inclusion, and helping create a world where everyone has a place.
This fall, let's celebrate a season that is truly for all and continue carving out space for everyone.
