About Us

Who We Are

We are Indigenous women, one living with a disability, the other a caregiver — building a business rooted in lived experience and community care and reflects who we are and what we believe.

This is The Ability Company — a minority-owned enterprise and proud member of the Canadian Council for Indigenous Business (CCIB). Founded by Patricia Ferreira, who lives with Cerebral Palsy, and her sister Jennifer, a dedicated caregiver, we use our lived experience to challenge perceptions and drive change.

We support adults with disabilities and caregivers through our Circles and Explorations, and offer thought leadership through our Events and Storytellings. Our work blends education, awareness, and relationship‑focused approaches to strengthen accessibility and inclusion across communities and organizations.

As well, our purpose-driven products are designed to spark conversation and celebrate difference.

We commit 5% of every sale — product or service — to Indigenous communities supporting people with disabilities. Because giving back isn’t an extra — it’s built into our business.

We’re not just a brand. We’re a movement. Taking the “dis” out of disability — one bold idea at a time.
