A New YouTube Channel Full of Heart, Humor, and Real Talk

The Ability Company is thrilled to announce something special coming your way — a brand-new YouTube channel starting August 15th! The Ability Lens will be monthly episodes where we talk about disability and caregivers — it’s a platform, a conversation, and a celebration of the disability community and those who support it.

Be sure to find our channel on YouTube and give us a follow.

Why Now?

We can write about it. We can post about it. But when stories are shared in motion — when expressions, energy, and emotion come together — it resonates in a deeper way. It becomes more real. More raw. More human. That’s what this channel is about: creating a space where storytelling lives and breathes, and where the heart of the disability and caregiving communities can be felt in its full truth.

This channel is rooted in lived experience. It’s about connection, not perfection. It’s about building circles of understanding, where people are valued not just for what they’ve been through, but for who they are. Because representation isn’t just about being included — it’s about being recognized, respected, and reflected. This is our way of honouring the voices of people with disabilities, caregivers, advocates, and allies — one story at a time.

Meet the Hosts

We’re two sisters — and the co-founders of The Ability Company. Our lived experiences are someone with a disability, someone who is a caregiver, someone who advocates, and more importantly someone who is not always thought about. We’ve faced barriers, challenged systems, and celebrated milestones — and we’re still walking that path every day.

Our bond is strong, but like any sisters, we don’t always agree. And that’s part of what makes this channel real. We bring different perspectives, shared values, and a deep-rooted commitment to change. Our conversations are filled with honesty, humour, and heart — and sometimes a little bickering back-and-forth. But always with love.

You’ll notice something special when you tune in: Trish sounds different. She has a speech impairment, which means sometimes she’s hard to understand — and that’s okay. In fact, it’s part of what makes this channel so important. We’re not here to be polish or perfect — we’re here to be real. Trish’s voice is powerful, and her presence on screen is a reminder that communication isn’t about sounding a certain way — it’s about being heard, respected, and valued. With a little patience and a willingness to listen, you’ll understand her just fine. And in doing so, you’ll be part of a bigger shift: one that embraces difference, challenges assumptions, and makes space for every voice.

What to Expect

We’ll be exploring topics that matter—from accessibility and advocacy to stigma, systemic barriers, personal growth, milestones, and everything in between. We’ll feature guests who bring their own lived experiences to the circle, because no one holds every story—but every story holds power.

Want to Share Your Story?

We’re currently looking for guests to join us on the show. If you’re someone with a disability, a caregiver, or an advocate with a story to share, we want to hear from you!

Connect with us here to get involved.

Our hope with this platform is to bring people’s voices to faces, people’s stories to the world, and people’s triumphs to the spotlight.

Stay tuned, stay inspired, and stay connected. Let’s build something better than one person, something meaningful, something that changes the world — one episode at a time.
