Fall Into Possibility | Vol. 2 No. 3

Embracing Change, Creating Opportunity

The shift into September arrives with a kind of quiet clarity — not a grand announcement, but a steady reminder that seasons change even when we’re not looking — the cooler mornings, the earlier sunsets, the feeling that something new is quietly taking shape. Fall doesn’t rush change; it guides us toward it. It reminds us that possibility often begins with a small adjustment, a gentle re‑orientation, and a willingness to see what could grow if we gave it space.

As we step into this new month, we’re grounding ourselves in the work that is expanding with the most clarity and purpose. Organizations continue to lean into Ability Events, Ability Storytellings, and our newly launched Ability Partnership Program — offerings where collaboration deepens, confidence strengthens, and long‑term inclusive accessibility practices take root.

This season also marks a meaningful milestone: the introduction of Ability Certified, our National Directory recognizing businesses that are 51% disability‑owned or caregiver‑owned. It’s a way for communities to find and support entrepreneurs whose lived experience shapes the work they do. And soon, we’ll be launching Ability Verified — a practice‑based accreditation designed to help organizations strengthen inclusive accessibility from the inside out.

Fall teaches us that change doesn’t have to be dramatic to be transformative. Possibility grows through intention, through refinement, and through choosing the next right step. This month, we are doing exactly that — embracing change not as disruption, but as opportunity.

With care,

Jen & Trish

The Courage to Reimagine

Reimagining begins in the quiet places — the moments when we pause long enough to ask whether the way we’ve always done things is still serving the people we care about most. For us, that question always circles back to lived experience: to caregivers navigating invisible labour, to people with disabilities carrying both brilliance and barriers, to the communities who deserve support that feels human, not transactional. This season, we’re choosing to reimagine with them at the centre.

Little by little, we’re shifting our business toward the work that creates the deepest impact for real people. We’re focusing on offerings that strengthen confidence, build connection, and make inclusive accessibility feel less like a checklist and more like a shared practice. Ability Events, Ability Storytellings, and the Ability Partnership Program continue to be the spaces where organizations show up ready to learn, ready to listen, and ready to grow in ways that last.

The launch of Ability Certified — and the upcoming introduction of Ability Verified — are part of that reimagining. They honour the entrepreneurs who lead from lived experience, the caregivers who build businesses around the realities of care, and the teams who are ready to deepen their commitment to inclusive accessibility from the inside out. These aren’t just programs; they’re pathways that make people feel seen.

Fall teaches us that change doesn’t need to be loud to be meaningful. Reimagining can be gentle, steady, and full of heart. It’s the courage to ask: What deserves more care? What deserves more clarity? What possibility opens when we choose to build with people, not just for them? This month, we’re embracing that courage — and inviting our community to step into it with us.

Journal of the Month: Carving Spaces For Everyone Starts With A Commitment

The journal of month for September explores what it really means to carve out space for people — especially for caregivers and people with disabilities who often build businesses out of resilience, necessity, and lived experience. You’ll get a first look at Ability Certified, our new accreditation recognizing disability‑owned and caregiver‑owned businesses across Canada, and why visibility matters. And you’ll also see what’s coming soon: Ability Verified, a recognition for organizations actively demonstrating inclusive accessibility in practice. It’s a story about possibility, recognition, and creating space where everyone can be seen and supported.

Behind the Scenes

We’ve been busy — in all the right ways. Behind the scenes, we’ve been wrapping things up, building what’s next, and setting new ideas into motion.

  • Holiday Drop: We’re deep into designing our Holiday Drop — a collection shaped with intention, warmth, and the message of carving out space for everyone. This stage is where ideas begin to take form and where we create pieces that spark conversation, connection, and belonging.

  • Ability Certified: We’re finalizing the launch of Ability Certified, our national accreditation recognizing disability‑owned and caregiver‑owned businesses across Canada. This work has been months in the making, and we’re excited to open the door to greater visibility, recognition, and opportunity.

  • Ability Verified (Coming Soon): Alongside Ability Certified, we’re putting the finishing touches on Ability Verified — a coming‑soon recognition for organizations actively demonstrating inclusive accessibility in practice. It’s a natural next step in building a stronger, more intentional business community.

  • London Chamber of Commerce: We met with the London Chamber of Commerce this month, exploring how our work and theirs might align. The conversation was energizing, full of possibility, and a reminder that meaningful collaboration often begins with a single shared value: community.

There is never a dull moment — and we’re grateful for every one of them.

Word of the Month: Reimagine

Reimagine is the invitation of fall — a chance to look at what exists and shape it with more intention, more care, and more room for people to belong. It’s the quiet courage to adjust, refine, and create new possibilities for caregivers, people with disabilities, and the communities we serve.
